The Hellenic Culture Centre, founded in 1995, is one of the first non formal education institutions that offered Greek as a foreign/second language courses for adults. It has an expertise in Language Teacher Training programmes. The aims of the institution are to promote language learning and language teaching and to contribute to adult education and intercultural education methodology.
The Centre is particularly specialized in programmes addressed to advanced students of Greek and professionals working with Greek Language (Greek Language for Interpreters and Translators, Greek Literature Programme, “Katharevousa” (formal ancient-like language), Perfection Programme, Legal terminology).
Since 2000, the Centre organizes also a full series of training seminars for teachers of Greek as a foreign/ second language who work in and outside Greece. The seminars are included in the Comenius/ Grundtvig training data base and part of them is developed in the Centre’s e- learning platform.
